The most beautiful beaches in the world
Here is a top list of the best beaches in the world - at least in our opinion.
With 39°C in the shade, we have already passed the first heat wave. We sat sweating in our offices and dreamed of much nicer places where you can do much nicer things. Lying on the beach with a cocktail in your hand, that would be the right thing! A refreshing Piña Colada perhaps. Served in a coconut. The pineapple is of course sun-ripened - you can taste the difference instantly. The feet are covered in warm, white sand. The sun shines on the skin and you can literally feel the vitamin D spreading through your body. The gentle and monotone sound of the waves puts the mind in a meditative mood as if the sea would sing a mantra. Anything that moves at home like an annoying boomerang, endless buzzing circles in the head is no longer important here and also quite far away. It seems as if all of the problems didn’t get through customs control at the airport and you are finally free of everything. Nothing can bring you out of your mind here.
You thought.
Because unfortunately the reality often looks completely different. Garbage and algae on the beach, dirty and muddy water, toxic jellyfishes and just too many loud people can spoil your soup. And somehow it doesn't look like the photo in the catalogue at all. If you have to argue with sunburned tourists about reserving a sun bed, the dream quickly becomes a nightmare. Nowadays we can quickly ask uncle Google for the most beautiful, the most quiet beaches, the cleanest sand or water. Here follows a small top list of the best beaches in the world, at least in our opinion.
1# Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island|Australia
In Whitsunday Island, on the Australian east coast, you will find this beautiful and isolated beach. With almost 99% quartz it is one of the whitest beaches in the world. Whitsunday Island is not only a national park, but also completely uninhabited. There are no hotels, buildings or shops. Only in the southern part of the isle are there some camping possibilities. The snow-white beach extends over a length of about eight kilometres in the eastern part of the island. Whiteheaven Beach is also known as one of the world's best ecological beaches. Here it is clean, beautiful and quiet. The beach can be easily reached by ferry or boat from Airlie Beach. The tourist centre Airlie Beach is located close to the Great Barrier Reef and between Cairns and Brisbane.
2# One Foot Island, Aitutaki Lagoon|Cook Islands
The Aitutaki Lagoon is probably one of the most idyllic lagoons in the world. The lagoon is home to a colourful underwater world of stingrays, colourful fishs and turtles. Small, uninhabited sand islands surround the lagoon. One of the most famous is One Foot Island, a foot-shaped bathing paradise with white beaches and crystal clear water. The island is a year-round destination and free of mass tourism and giant hotels. As the offer is mainly limited to lagoon tours, fishing, snorkeling and water sports, the visitors often do not stay long here and therefore sometimes one has a whole beach for oneself.
3# Anse Lazio, Praslin |Seychelles
On the Seychelles, northwest of the second largest island Praslin lies the beautiful bay Anse Lazio. It lies northeast of Madagascar, east of Zanzibar and south of Socotra in the middle of the Indian Ocean and is awarded as one of the most beautiful beaches of the world. Huge granite rocks decorate the powdery sand, surrounded by palm trees and Takamaka trees. The water is clear and turquoise. A bathing dream with sustainable tourism, as there are no hotels directly on the beach. Much more is going on at the Anse Source d'Argent beach on the Indek La Digue, one of the most famous beaches of the world.
#4 Tulum, Yucatàn | Mexico
Years ago, the beach in Tulum was still a secret tip. In the meantime, the dream beach with its magnificent scenery has spread. Palm trees, blue water and ruins of a Maya harbour town on a picturesque cliff are hard to keep secret. Even if there is more going on here, the beach is incredibly worth seeing, easy to reach and close to many other impressive sights. For example the countless Cenotes - underground lakes in limestone holes and caves filled with fresh water, inviting you to swim and snorkel.
In order to have a relaxing holiday, it is always a good idea to avoid the main travel times of your destination. Thus, one can also spend a relaxed holiday at the right time, under the right circumstances, in otherwise overcrowded tourist hotspots.
You want more action when you are bathing - how about swimming in the company of seals in Santa Cruz on the Galapagos Islands, swimming with pigs in Big Majoe Cay in the Bahamas or hanging out with flamingos on Flamingo Beach in Aruba?
You thought.
