The loop code
Forwards, backwards, left or right?
Imagine the following: you are perfectly styled and at the Oktoberfest. The dirndl fits like a glove, the hairstyle sits, but the sweet guy from the next table just don't react to your flirting attempts. Then it may be that you simply didn't pay attention to where your loop sits. This tells you if the wearer is forgiven or not. In order to avoid such a faux pas and possibly to frighten away your dream prince unintentionally, we have decrypted the loop code.

The sides are to be seen always from view of the Dirndl wearer.

# Dirndl loop bound on the right side

If the bow is tied on the right side, this means that the lady is married or at least taken.  As a small mnemonic aid for everyone: The right side is the side on which the wedding ring is usually worn. So for all men it means that the woman is either really in a relationship or simply wants to have her time. In both cases: hands off!

# Dirndl loop bound on the left side

When a woman wears the bow on the left side, she indicates that she is still available. So dear guys it is allowed to flirt - according to the slogan „Schleife links – Glück bringt’s!“

# Dirndl loop tied in the middle

According to tradition, an apron tied in the middle means that the wearer is still a virgin. A newer meaning for the bow sitting in the middle is also the statement: "This is not your business".

# Dirndl loop tied at the back

The bow tied in the back is withheld from the widows. For practical reasons, however, operators also tie their aprons at the back.

No matter where the bow is ultimately placed, it should be tied accurately and well. This of course requires that the apron and especially the apron ribbon have been meticulously ironed first. Pay attention to the instructions for care and always iron from the left to avoid unattractive shiny spots.

The perfectly ironed apron must now be put on correctly. The ribbons should lie exactly on top of each other, so that no crossing is visible at best. It always sits at the waist and is tied as tightly as possible. The loops of the ribbon are the same length and the ends are slightly longer.

A last check in the mirror and let's go to the Wiesn!
